DC Ranch Gets Krispy Kreme & Cajun

“Doughnut Dan” Brinton Opens 8th Valley Krispy Kreme and His Latest Concept Beauregard Food Co. Side by Side

The man that brought back to Arizona the south’s favorite doughnut – Krispy Kreme – is serving up a full menu of southern fare at his new restaurant concept Beauregard Food Co., newly opened on Market Street at D.C. Ranch.

Opening next door to Brinton’s newest Krispy Kreme neighborhood store, Beauregard Food Co. is as the sign reads “…a southern thing.” The menu has a Cajun flare and includes gumbo, and shrimp and crawfish wraps. Guests can also experience southern favorites such as fried pickles and comeback sauce (aka “Cajun ketchup”).

“People will soon find out that ‘Doughnut Dan’ knows more than doughnuts,” said Dan Brinton, franchise partner of Krispy Kreme Arizona and Beauregard Food Co. owner. “The restaurant business is in my blood and I’m just as passionate about my fried pickles as I am my doughnuts.”

Beauregard Food Co., named after Brinton’s great-great grandfather’s dry goods company established in 1898 in Clarksville, Tenn., is a 70-seat family- and wallet-friendly destination. Mud bugs, better known as children, have a variety of meals to choose from and are invited to draw and stamp on the paper-covered white tablecloths.

“This is my neighborhood, so I know first-hand that people want a place they can take their families for good food any night of the week,” said Brinton. “I hope to appeal to those folks as well as Valley residents looking for food that’s as fun as whittling and as comfortable as a rocking chair.”

Beauregard Food Co. is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Daily specials include offerings such as shrimp and grits, red beans and rice, shrimp and crawfish cheesecake, and etouffee. The address is 20825 N. Pima Rd. Suite 100.

The D.C. Ranch Krispy Kreme is open seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and features 15 varieties of doughnuts, including Krispy Kreme’s signature Original Glazed® doughnut. The store offers 25-cent coffee, 99-cent specialty coffee beverages, and Shamrock Farms milk.

Drop-in/Hourly Child Care Facility Opens in North Scottsdale

MAUI PLAYCARE OF SCOTTSDALE

HAS OPENED ITS FIRST HOURLY, DROP-IN CHILD CARE FACILITY

Scottsdale, AZ, October 5, 2009 – Maui PlayCare of Scottsdale announces it has opened its first hourly, drop-in childcare facility in North Scottsdale on Monday, October 5, 2009.

Maui PlayCare of Scottsdale provides quality care and supervision to young children (ages 2-8) on a temporary, hourly basis.

There will be no enrollment fees, memberships or reservations required for this service.  The facility is open every day, including evenings and weekends and charges $9.95 per hour for the first child and $5.95 per hour for siblings; the system prorates visits down to the minute.

The center is staffed with well-trained, well-qualified staff that adhere to our policy of nothing but fun.  Employees are CPR and first aid certified, in addition to having a great knowledge in early childhood development.  Every person who is affiliated with the center is drug tested and background checked.

“I am extremely excited to bring Maui PlayCare to the Valley of the Sun,” said Tina Ryder, franchise owner.  “As a stay-at-home mother of two young children, I quickly realized the need for a no-fuss, no-commitment, convenient, safe place where my kids would enjoy visiting from time-to-time while I attended meetings and appointments, went shopping, and fulfilled other commitments.  As parents, we   constantly strive to maintain balance in our busy lives; Maui PlayCare helps to make that possible,” she said.
