A Western-themed benefit for Paula Saletnik , better known as “Pistol Packin’ Paula,” takes place from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Bison Museum of North Scottsdale. Saletnik, a world-class Western performer for years, was severely injured in a car accident on Jan. 10 of this year. The event features Western entertainers and celebrities, silent and live auctions, food, refreshments, and more. Dillan Micus, Executive Vice President of the Western Division of AXA Advisors, recently received the President’s Trophy, an award that goes to the company’s top 10 branches nationwide based on five key business drivers: management effectiveness, sales development, profitability, recruiting, and retention. Currently, the Scottsdale branch ranks #1 in its organization. The professional achievement marks Micus’ second President’s Trophy in two years. Micus, who joined the organization in 2005, has been cited for an “out-of-the-box management style” that has escalated the branch’s growth, fueled the local economy through the addition of new advisors, and resulted in an upcoming relocation to bigger office space within Scottsdale.

Grayhawk named Colin Oas as Director of Tournament Sales for the high-end, daily-fee golf club. In this new role, Oas is responsible for generating group golf outing leads, customizing group packages, and organizing golf tournaments for hotel partners, corporations, and charitable organizations. Oas also will spearhead an innovative e-mail outreach program designed to open the lines of communication with the club’s existing customers as Director of Digital Communications.

Airpark-based Animal Surgical and Medical Center recently announced that it won the 2008 Veterinary Economics Hospital of the Year competition from a field of 43 entries nationwide. An independent panel of judges evaluated facilities on the basis of site plan, outpatient and inpatient areas, the quality of finish materials, along with mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and overall features.

The Bison Homes team of Percheron horses earned first place in the “Best Overall” entry at the 55th Annual Parada del Sol Parade on Feb. 23 in Old Town Scottsdale. The horses impressed the judges with their regal presence, beauty, and teamwork. The six-horse hitch worked as a finely-tuned unit under the guidance of their handler/driver Gary Keck and his group of wranglers.
